Alcudia in April

Hi everyone, looking at going to Alcudia the first week of April - has anyone been in April and is everything open pls? And what is the weather like? Anything else I need to now?

I've had a look online and it's conflicting info so I would appreciate any input. Am planning on going with 3 kids.

Cold and wet when we went to visit family one year, quite warm the next but pool/sea obvs freezing.

Tourist strip was mostly shut but a few English bars etc open all year round so you'll not starve.

That was mid to end of April btw. First week is risky if you want warm sun.

Not warm..usually rainy..things don't start to open up until May.
Try a Canary Island.

I wouldn't go then, too early. Not much open, and not very warm!

I've done Majorca early May. Most days it was too cool to be on the beach. We also had rain.

Tbh, it was a waste of money as I went with young DCs. Would've been better in the UK with a cottage and better facilities.

I would agree to try the canaries. We go to lanzarote feb time for a bit of winter sun and it is sunny (chilly in the evenings though) and everything is open

Even in the Canaries the sea and pool are cold in April. You should get warm t shirt weather though.

If you want to be sure of temperatures that will let you lie on a beach, nowhere in the Mediterranean can guarantee that so early in the year. Places in Mallorca open all through April, and they might start earlier this year because Easter is so early. Palma is always open and has beaches and stuff to do on wet or cool days, but you won't find many "family holiday with meals included" hotels there.

Canaries would be more reliable for good weather, book somewhere with a heated pool. A bit early in the season for the Balearics.
