Supermarkets in Samoëns, France

A bit of a niche question, we are going to Samoëns in the summer and staying in a chalet. If anyone has been, are there any dairy free milks available in the supermarkets? Dc have milk and nut allergies and they drink a lot, otherwise will have to bring our own.

As far as I can tell, Carrefour only do nut and dairy. You might be lucky in a bio shop but I wouldn't risk not taking any.

Depends on how you are travelling and whether you'll have access to a car. I can't remember off hand if there is dairy free in the supermarkets up in the higher villages but certainly down in the valleys (near the motorway) there was good availability of free from products in the big super/hypermarkets.

I'd probably take some to be safe but if you're able to get to a bigger supermarket there will be plenty of options. Lots of free from yoghurt/cheeses and vegan and 'bio' organic stuff too.

We lived in a very rural (sorry MN!) part of France until recently.

Our local supermarket was pretty small, but wide range of dairy/nut free milks (and other products) were always readily available.

You could try asking on the snowheads forum as there may well be someone on there who is skiing in Samoens and could check for you.

Thanks for the replies. We are flying to Geneva and then getting a transfer to our chalet, so won’t be using a car.
I think the nearest big supermarket is a Carrefour. Probably will bring some cartons in a suitcase then just in case.
That’s a good idea about the Snowheads forum, thanks!
