Hi i am wondering if its easy to get a British passport for my Aussie born daughter? and is it easy? I believe i could have done it when she was born but wondered if its difficult now she is older. I dont plan to move back but thinking more of when she is older and she may want to go to University or travel in the UK. Her dad is Aussie and i am British.

definitely get it if you can.
you just need to apply online and send your and you parents birth certificates.

It depends on how you got your British citizenship. If you are British born, to British oarents, getting your daughter a passport will be airline straight forward. If your British citizenship was obtained through other means, it could be more tricky

If you yourself are British otherwise than by descent (if you were born in the UK then you probably are, though depends on your parents' nationalities and when you were born) then your daughter is British by descent and you just need to apply. (For the passport)

They'll need evidence of your own British Citizenship. Your passport and how you acquired it will give the information. Otherwise your own b/cert and possibly that of your parents.

As others have said, the issue is not about the passport, it's about her citizenship. Either she's a UK citizen or she isn't and there's not a lot that can happen to change that (either way). Certainly nothing changes between ages 0 and 6.

Also, even if she is a UK citizen, because she was born abroad her future children will not be UK citizens if they are also born outside the UK with a non-British partner.

For university, though, it’s unlikely a British passport in itself will help you avoid international fees.

Yes, because fees are based on residency, not citizenship. But it would at least remove the need for a visa.
