Where to go

Hey everyone. I'm looking for a bit of holiday advice!

DH and I are looking to go away for a week on w/c 27th May when the baby's nursery is closed. DD will have just turned 1.

We don't want to fly too far so are thinking Spain/portugal. All inclusive resort

The key bit, and the bit I'm struggling with, is DDs bedtime. She's in a lovely routine and sleeps 7-7. We want somewhere with a bungalow/chalet/apartment so that when she goes to bed we aren't sat in silence in a hotel room at 7pm!

Has anyone got any recommendations please?

We always book a Villa. That way you can go out and explore during the day and eat out, then have something light in the evening when the child is in bed. You will also have more room to entertain them indoors when the sun is at its most fierce.

We used to go to France when DTS were small so could load all their shit in the car and drive without worrying about baggage allowances and stayed in mobile homes so we had the decking to sit out in the evening. I unfortunatley was not blessed with the sort of children who would nap in buggy in a restaurant!

Portugal would be good because there's no time difference, so that will help with sleeping. When DS was smaller we stayed in a villa (not in Portugal) and it was lovely that he had his own bedroom and we could enjoy our evening while he slept. You could also consider a hotel with a big enough room - we're going away this year and booked two interconnecting rooms so that DS has his own space. I suggest having a browse to see what options there are once you've settled on a location.
