Denmark with teenagers

We’re interested in going to Denmark on summer holidays this year, I’m just not keen on scorching heat anymore. We like a mix of sightseeing / day trips and more chill time at beach or in a very low key “resort” with maybe cycling, kayaking etc. Kind of thinking maybe 5 days somewhere more coastal then 2/3 night in Copenhagen. We would fly and use public transport. If anybody has any recommendations of hotels / resorts that would be appreciated, had thought about one of the landal resorts as we’ve stayed in one in the UK and enjoyed it but not sure if any are near public transport. Thankyou!

We did 4 nights in Copenhagen in October and we could have filled a week easy. Public transport is OK - we used trains/metro system with no problems. Its a lovely country and went over to Sweden for one day on the train too. Very expensive to eat out so factor that in. We stayed in Steel House which has cooking facilities, pool area, private room with ensuite, games room and bar. Highly recommend.

Agreed you‘ll easily fill that time in Copenhagen, I can recommend Next House as a place to stay, it’s a hostel but you can book a private en suite room. The communal spaces are great especially for teenagers and it’s well located for walking around and public transport.

denmarks beaches are lovely although the water is cold!

I planned a hol to Copenhagen a few years ago, but DS went off the idea (boohoo).

Things I wanted to do :
1 day Cycle around the town on old clunky hire bikes.
Hire great off road bikes & ride out to the forests north of the city (multi days)
Kayak : huge opportunities for hire, guided or solo.
Skating: once a month on a Friday night there's a 50minute or so group skate, roads are closed for this event. We would have brought own skates. Cancelled if wet !

I'm off there tomorrow with adult kids albeit. Will make some notes and post them here 👍

@Teenagemum34 I thought you meant Lalandia resorts - not Landal.

Anyway if you mean Lalandia there is one in Billund (next to legoland) which you can get to on public transport. Info is here https://www.seat61.com/Denmark.htm#legoland

Good for teenagers
