Which route is better? Flying or ferry

Planning a trip abroad to somewhere far away. The options to get home are

A: Ferry 1hr, 40 minute taxi, 10 hour flight
B: Flight 40 minutes, 8 hour flight

I don't understand your two options. Can you give more detail?

It depends on where it is. If it's Scottish islands I would choose the option that is least frequently disrupted by weather.

Or indeed channel Islands which are often foggy which affects flights. More detail needed

Well if it's just based on time then obviously B. But if A is an option then there must be a reason (you like the ferry? The times of day are better?)... which we'd sort of need to know if you want opinions..

Neither is better if there is a delay.
