passport renewal – how long did yours take recently?

Has anyone done a standard renewal for British passport in 2024? Can you remember how long it took to arrive? I want to go to a hen do in 7 weeks time which is abroad but don’t know if that’s pushing it!

Mine took two weeks. But it’s all about getting the old passport to them so they can start the process!

5 days in Jan - posted it off on the friday and got the new passport on the wed

Eight days here. And that was going from child to adult passport.

I did mine recently and it took just over a week. Others I know have also found it to be super speedy at the moment.

Mine took 6 days a couple of weeks ago.

Less than a week for renewal slightly longer for first passport

applied on 19th, sent old passport on 21st and it arrived yesterday so 1pm days .

Did the online application at the weekend, posted old one on Tuesday, they received it Wednesday, new one arrived Saturday! (Child to adult)

I applied for my renewal Monday, they received my old passport yesterday and had a message today to say they've approved my new one so should be here in the next few days. I did my DD's first passport a few weeks ago and that only took 2 weeks from start to finish and I had to get it resigned as I read the acceptable occupations wrong 🤦🏼‍♀️ x

2 kids' passport renewals in December.

It was so quick and there were text updates at every stage. I was very impressed.

I think it was about 1 week in total.

Oh wow, thanks everyone. I put it in recorded delivery today so it should Monday. It’s just that the website says 10 weeks which panicked me. I wish they’d give a more accurate range.

Kids renewal took 4 days this week - old ones arrived at passport office on Monday, new ones printed Wednesday and arrived Thursday!

My dd’s renewal took 2 weeks.

Recently done mine, took less than 2 weeks.

2 weeks, we sent the old passport off as soon as they confirmed they needed it and my friend did the photo signing bit the same day she got the email.

Just renewed mine, it took 8 days from posting my old passport.

4 days at the end of Jan. Submitted and posted Monday afternoon. New passport delivered Friday lunchtime.

The dc's renewals have just taken 7 days.

8 days. Renewed my daughters passport and received it yesterday. Hers was only a renewal which we did online uploading our own photo.

I posted DCs for renewal on Monday (did the form and validation from a friend online on Saturday night) and have had the message to say it's been sent yesterday

The HMRC website says usually 3 weeks and the website https://www.passportwaitingtime.co.uk/ says 12.67 days atm.

I have 4 to renew and they all took about of a couple of weeks. Was quite quick.
