Return to same destination or try somewhere new?

We loved a destination for a holiday. We are looking at booking next year’s trip.

There are a few similar places to the one we loved but people online say it was the best choice.

Do we stick or twist?
Try somewhere new that’s on our list, or return to somewhere we liked?

In 45 years of travel abroad I would never visit the same place twice. DH always complained that it was a gamble and we should revisit somewhere we know to be good.
We are now in our 60s and 70s, DC all grown up now and only us to please so we are unashamedly going back to places we've loved before.
In UK breaks I do have favourite places that we go to because if it's only a weekend it's nice to know what to expect.
