Do you chat to people on holiday?

When you’re on holiday, do you chat to strangers/other holiday makers?

I’ve been on holiday to places where couples seem to very much keep to themselves. I’ve been to other destinations where people just start chatting at a bar/in the sea/ at a restaurant

We never make friends with people or hang out with them later on, the chatting is usually just for that time.
I like people and we've met some fascinating characters and some crazy ones too.
I remember chatting to one woman and someone started filming us. I laughed and said 'what's all this about?' She replied 'oh we're filming a reality tv show'
I had to hide from her every time I saw her and it did make me paranoid for a while.

Sure I'll chat. I do not want to get hangers on who then want to do things together though - unless some sort of immediate 'I've found my best friend' then it's casual and just a pleasant way of passing a little time. I rarely instigate it but may make a passing comment to someone at a market for example. I had a lovely chat with a gentleman sitting on a bench outside the changing rooms - my DD and his wife were in adjacent stalls. He reacted best to one top she came out wearing - then she says 'I came in wearing this you fool'! They were such a sweet couple and he was trying his best to be complimentary. It was a very pleasant few minutes - that's the kind of thing I like.
