Kids are off to Spain for a week in August to visit grandparents so DH & I thought we'd take the dog to Snowdonia for a week of long walks, Castles, beautiful scenery and hopefully a bit of peace & quiet.
I'm looking at Airbnb's but I really don't know which town/village would be best to be near.
Is there anywhere you would recommend or advise me to avoid please?
Thank you all in advance.

Conwy is a good base

Llandudno is a short drive away with loads of restaurants
Harlech and Barmouth area is also very nice, both are just outside the national park so you get better weather and more selection.

Some nice waterfall walks here

Conwy Town is a world heritage site with an imposing thirteenth-century castle and walls. Conwy’s harbour, revolutionary Telford suspension bridge, …

Llanberis is nice, very central and pretty with things to do.

just outside Snowdonia you’ve got Barmouth and Criccieth too which are on the coast and lovely. Also Anglesey is beautiful, particularly Rhoseneiger and Menai

We stayed in a really nice air bnb in Bethesda last year, it was a short drive to Snowdon/the coast and there were a decent amount of shops/takeaways/pubs in the village

Conway loads todo, places to walk nice shops and cafes. Llanberris is a bit dull.

Hi we stayed here a few times. It's suitable for kids and no kids. Certainly no one got in the way of anyone.

The guy that runs it is fantastic. You wouldn't be able to leave the dog alone in the wigwam but probs in the house. I've not stayed in the house.

To clarify, I had a dog here. No issues. He's also an Akita which some people may say no to. He was happy to have my pup there

Beddgelert - The Copper Miners Cottage.

We've stayed a few times. The Cottage is centrally located in the village, beautifully decorated has everything you need. You won't be disappointed.

Caer Rhun Hall hotel, just outside Conwy, very dig friendly. Amazing place.
