Holidays abroad with 2 year old?! Ideas.

After a damp holiday in Wales last year we really want a bit of sun.

We love a pool or beach and we'd probably want a room with a cot or childs bed and a balcony so we can sit up after the little one (DS2) has gone to bed. We aren't big drinkers, and would value peace and quiet/doing our own thing over evening entertainment. Catered options/no-cooking is definitely more appealing than self-catering - also like the idea of most of the cost covered before we get there.

What would be best? Any recommendations in terms of which holiday providers, location etc. is good to go for?

This would be our first holiday abroad with our lively two year old and looking at the TUI/Jet2 websites is just a bit overwhelming with the many options available. Would love some hivemind advice!

Ron Son Bou is probably the most child-friendly hotel I’ve been to, and it’s only 30 mins transfer from the airport.

Sorry, Royal Son Bou, not Ron!

Royal Son Bou or Martinhal

We have booked Royal Son Bou for this summer so I glad to see it recommended! We will have 23 month old and a 5 year old.

Are holiday villages (were first choice) still available? They were great for kids it was over 10 years ago but my dcs loved it, we chose Majorca as it was a shorter flight.

Yes they are, kids loved them. We have been to Ibiza, Rhodes and Kos. Ibiza was our favourite.

When ours were pre-school we went to TUI Holiday Villages. Excellent kiddie activities, brilliant pools and also a creche if you want a bit of adult time.

Note they are extortionate in English school holidays.

We went to the Eden resort in Portugal, our daughter was 2 at the time and we loved it.

It's an all inclusive resort but all apartments. We had a two bed apartment so little one had her own room which was great for naps etc. it had a small kitchenette and a living room. Obviously all meals were covered in the all inclusive plus sandwiches, toasties 'lite bites' were available at the bar in between meal times. 3 pools, 1 adult only, 1 just a normal pool and then a splash pad area aimed at the littles!

We would go back it was lovely. And as a mum to a messy toddler I was very excited that there was a launderette 😂

Sorry forgot to mention, it was a jet2 holiday x

Nana golden beach all inclusive resort in Crete is very toddler friendly if that’s the holiday you are looking for
