Cordial Mogan Valle apartments in April?

Has anyone stayed at the Cordial Mogan Valle apartments in April? Wondering if the pools are warm or freezing and Google isn’t producing an answer! I have read that some places have freezing pools which would be a bit of a disappointment really.
We have booked flights and like the look of the area and these seem to be highly reviewed. Any words of wisdom greatly received! Thank you 😊

We stayed in the apartments at the end of December and according to my 9 year old son they were very cold and he didn't think they were heated. I went in the infinity pool and it was rather chilly but according to the Jet2 website they are heated from November to the end of March. My kids still went in the pools and enjoyed them but spent a lot of time in the splash park and jacuzzi.

We loved the apartments and thought Puerto Mogan was lovely, we would certainly go again as the apartments are very spacious with amazing balconies.

We are staying at the Hotel Cordial Mogan Playa in four weeks.

My friend and I stayed in November and it was fabulous. Puerto de Mogan has a micro climate so gran Canaria was about 22 and it was 30 in Puerto de Mogan. The pool was cold but by the time we'd swum about 5 strokes it was fine. The apartments are great, so spacious and the supermarket is opposite so no lugging anything any distance. So many restaurants within a 19 minute walk and the Friday market which is about 5 minutes away and goes up to the port is brilliant.

Ahwig · 23/02/2024 20:22

19 minutes walk away, that's precise, no I meant 10 minutes

HalfasleepChrisintheMorning · 23/02/2024 20:25

Not the apartments but I have stayed at the hotel and the pools were a nice temperature. Love Mogan

Sausagis · 23/02/2024 20:39

I was there January. Main pool cold, kids swam but I wouldn't. Infinity pool was heated to take the edge off - not to bath temp but I swam and I'm a wuss and hate cold water. I think there was a third pool which was heated but never got there.

Generally recommend both the apartments and Puerto Mogán.

Thanks everyone! 19 minute walk is fine 😂 I’m really torn as I think the apartments are probably much better and way cheaper than the hotel but the hotel has nice pools! I’ll have to muse!
Don’t suppose anyone can comment on soundproofing? We stayed in some apartments in Spain once snd could literally hear everything from the apartments either side, which wasn’t much fun!

Re the sound proofing, we had no problems at all. Very relaxing, if you sat on the balcony you could hear the music from a couple of the bars/ restaurants but to be honest in November or early spring it's a bit too cold to sit outside on the balcony at night time. With the doors closed we heard nothing and slept really well. Also they have blackout curtains in the bedroom which is fab.

I know this was posted quite a few weeks ago but how was/is your holiday? We are off to this hotel in June. We are half board in two junior suites. Are there any tips/advice you could offer and is the hotel as lovely as it looks? We are arriving fairly late so will shops nearby still be open for essentials? Sorry for all the questions, and I hope you had/are having an amazing holiday!

friendlycat · 05/04/2024 10:41

firstshoes
the supermarket opposite is open until 10pm. So depending what time you arrive you can quickly pop over for essentials.

the hotel is lovely with charming gardens, but some feel it’s a bit dated but that doesn’t necessarily detract from the ambiance etc.

Sunnnybunny72 · 06/04/2024 09:59

Firstshoes the hotel is beautiful. It's busy, but because it's low level and the grounds are huge and like a tropical jungle it really doesn't seem like it. I have never seen so many huge palms, plants etc growing in and among the grounds and apartments. There is a bird cage and a waterfall. Wonderful staff. It is probably the most attractive hotel we have ever stayed in and we holiday a fair bit. Pools were lovely too.
Puerto Mogan itself is so nice, the harbour area is stunning.
You will have a great holiday.
Not sure about the shop, we didn't use it!

Sunnnybunny72 · 06/04/2024 10:02

Firstshoes maybe email the hotel and ask for a sunny balcony if you want one. We did and got one, but some rooms didn't get much due to positioning and foliage.
You can swap your evening meal for lunch (no cost, they give you a voucher at reception) and eat out in Mogan instead. We did this most nights.

Firstshoes · 06/04/2024 13:08

Thank you both for the very useful relpies! I am very excited now. I read that it may be possible to swap dinner for lunch so that's good to hear. We are half board but love eating out so will definitely be doing that on alternate evenings most probably. I am so glad you enjoyed it and puerto Mogan certainly does sound lovely. :-)

Hello everyone! I'm looking at booking Cordial Mogan Valle Apartments. Which website did you use? Happy to book accomm and flights separately.

friendlycat · 02/10/2024 12:54

@ Fuzzyduck21
If you join Be Cordial you get discount on the booking of any of their properties. You can also select which room you want as well.

If you also look on Trip Advisor Puerto de Mogan there is a very helpful lady called "Pippi" who knows both the Valle apartments and especially the next door hotel really well. She often helps people with which rooms to select if you want quiet, sunny etc.

Otherwise if doing a package various people have them Easy Jet. Jet 2, etc.
