We have a budget of around 3.5k for a summer holiday at the beginning of July. This is for 2 adults and a 14yo. It's been a very shit couple of years for us and I haven't been to a hotel for a holiday since 2018. So both Dh and I just want to go to a resort where I don't have to think about anything or clear up anything. We like water sports and diving/snorkelling and are certified divers.
i was trying to see how far i could make the budget stretch. We have to spend it with Tui as we won £1k in vouchers in a raffle. I found 14 nights in several hotels in hurghada around the budget which all have really good TA and google reviews. I went travelling around Egypt "in my youth" in 2002 and loved it but hurghada and all inclusive hotels were in their infancy then with just a couple of hotels on the strip. I'm also conscious that the situation in the Middle East is precarious although obvs it's on the other side of the Red Sea from Israel. i like the idea of being able to visit Luxor/aswan as well as get some great diving in.
any recent experiences ? We aren't too bothered about hard liquor or stuff like that as I know AI hotel spirits in Egypt are like paint stripper 😂
