We are going to Winterberg, Germany in the summer for a family event. Staying in Ortsmitte region.

We will have 2 days free to ourselves and looking to make the most of our trip and finding some fun things to do.

Never been before and don’t know the area so hoping mumsnet can help.

We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. Anyone know of any things in this area we might like to do?

Particularly thinking zoos, theme parks, bowling, go karting etc.

I put "Amusement near Winterberg Germany" into Google Maps and it found several places.

I've not been to this part of Germany myself, although I've been to several other areas, either as a student, a summer intern or just visiting.

Winterberg is in the Hochsauerland.

Something I can see is that there is a bobsleigh/luge track there - I'd love to see it, but nothing would persuade me to go down it!

The website for Winterberg shows pictures of various things which might appeal to a family with teenagers.

@Madwife123

They might enjoy the Bikepark, OP.

There's a Sauerland SommerCard which might suit you.
