Can anyone recommend somewhere short haul?

I can’t look at any more holidays. They are all just humbling into one.

im looking for somewhere in Majorca/ Cyprus similar area with a lovely hotel with a decent pool, preferably 2. A Sandy beach nearby and we would like to go self catering although like the AI hotels.

can anyone recommend somewhere they have been?

2 adults and 2 early teens.

Viva Cala Mesquida Resort has at least four pools, plus lots of sports and activities, plus the beach that it’s on has powder soft sand.

Have a look at Hotel Son Bauló in Can Picafort, Mallorca. It's a really nice hotel that caters mainly to Brits, right on the sand, with not even a road to cross.

There is only one problem, which is that the food on the evening buffet is not good, as if they haven't updated the menu or recipes since the 1970s. At least, that was the case when we were there a couple of years ago. But everything else is fine, better than the price would suggest, and you can book B&B. The breakfast isn't too bad, nor is the à la carte lunchtime food in the outside café area, and there are plenty of places nearby to have lunch or dinner.

I took a look and looks great. Sold out with Thomas cook and found somewhere with half board but taking on board what you said about the food I’ll see if I can find a company that does B&B or SC.

Then you would just need a flight. You can book a transfer separately (private or shared), or you can just jump in a taxi outside the terminal or get the local airport bus.

Thanks. I think we will try to find it as a package if we can as think you are more ‘protected’ with a package holiday.

Fair enough. Half-board only adds €12 per person per night to the B&B rate on the hotel's web site (and drinks are not included), so if you don't find B&B in a package you could maybe take HB and write off the dinner if it hasn't improved. Apologies for mentioning it so much, but we just found it comically bad compared to everything else about the hotel!

Protour playa palmeras in Sa coma Majorca is lovely. It has 2 pools. The main one downstairs and a roof top one and it's only a few mins walk to the beach. Food is lovely too.
