'Documents received': How long until I recieve the passport?

I'm wondering if anyone has renewed a passport recently and can give me an estimated timeframe for getting new passport? My documents arrived Monday (confirmed by proof of postage/signature) and marked as received on Thursday afternoon. Docs sent to the Corby office if that make a difference. I'm being impatient waiting for my next update.

I applied for a new passport for DD. Documents arrived on Thursday, passport received the following Tuesday. It was really quick. Now regretting not booking a few days away at half term!!

I got mine in two days - amazing service!

novocaine4thesoul · 17/02/2024 23:48

Within the week because we paid for the one week service due to son forgetting to tell us he had lost it whilst out drinking months earlier, and had only 8 days until next flight - to do the full palarva of driving to a passport office to do it, and paid another £70 ish to do it too.😡 However, I renewed my adult one recently and was pleasantly surprised to have it in my hand within a week, just the normal service. On their website they tell you what the current times are likely to be (I think it was 10 days when I looked and we decided it was "too close for comfort"). I don't think you will wait long. x

Thank you everyone for taking the time to respond. It's been just under 2 weeks since submitting my online application so hopefully it will be as quick as some of you found!

😂This is me at the moment! I processed our sons application last Friday and posted a copy of his birth certificate (to the Corby address) which was delivered on Wednesday afternoon. Still waiting for them to confirm they have received the documents! I know it’s only a couple of days but I also completed my passport renewal (to a different address) which has already been printed and due for delivery… I can’t stop looking at the tracking! 😂

Mine was shipped 9 days after the documents received email. (Printed 6 days after and shipped 3 days after that) That was in April this year.

I'm the same! Posted on Saturday they signed for them on Monday according to the royal mail tracker. I spoke to someone on live chat yesterday morning who advised me to call them as they should have been marked received within 48 hours. So I done this and they have confirmed my document is received and in progress on the application. Corby office too. There is a Facebook group about passport waiting times and there are a lot of posts saying the Corby office is running a little bit slower than Hemel Hempstead.

This is all sounding like a good news story for once, excellent! 😊

Six days including the Easter weekend. The woman who is running the Passport Office should be put in charge of the country.

@Username12284949 Thanks for sharing this! Did calling them push things along? Sounds like it did!

Takoneko · 18/05/2024 18:03

Got mine a couple of weeks ago. It took less than a week.

notanotherrokabag · 18/05/2024 18:04

Yes I think so! When I was on the phone to them the advisor asked for the royal mail tracking number and marked them as received while I was on the phone. Then the more about it I started to think that's not much help as he's only marked it as received as he could see by the tracking number it had arrived and it wasn't marked received because they were actually dealing with it if that makes sense. So I spoke to someone on live chat last night to see if they could confirm that it had actually been attached to my application and they had a look and it had been done an hour after my phone call.

@Username12284949 Thanks! I will give mine a few more days and if no joy, I think I’ll do the same as you. I found the Facebook page you mentioned and can see a lot of people saying that Corby office is taking a while! Thanks for your help 😊

curlycurlymoo · 18/05/2024 18:57

I applied and sent off docs and had it approved and printed ready to be sent within six days! Jackpot!!

IggyAce · 18/05/2024 19:02

Applied for 4 passports at the start of the year and the quickest was 7 days and the longest was 10 days. I was very impressed.

Topseyt123 · 18/05/2024 19:02

I had to renew mine and DD3's just under 2 years ago. Peterborough office, and DD was changing from a child's passport to her first adult one.

We did the online forms, took our own photos and sent the old passports back the next day. We both had our new ones within 10 days as I remember.

Longma · 18/05/2024 19:19

I received mine about a week after they received my old passport,
It arrived a day or two after the status changed to printed,
