Florence dinner

Will be in Florence for one night in the summer (a Saturday). Will we get away without booking for dinner (4 of us, 2 adults 2 kids) if we are planning on eating early? Or if booking required can anyone recommend anything family friendly and not too pricey?

Trattoria San Lorenzo is lovely, and has outside seating as well as inside, upstairs and down. It's about 3 minutes walk from the Duomo. Tbh, loads of restaurants in that area, and all are pretty good.
If you're into steak, then you could eat at one of the Chiana beef steak places. There's one just around the corner from the Duomo on the little road that takes you up to Piazza San Lorenzo where the trattoria is.
Best steak ever.
