Village in Bordeaux? Or Cap Ferrat?

I have 4 days in Bordeaux following a wedding. I know nothing about France!

I'd love a gite in a lovely village with a square and lovely restaurants. Quiet, beautiful you get the drift! I'm overwhelmed with the choice at the moment.

Or shall we go to to Cap Ferrat? I would be looking for a nice hotel next to the beach.

Thanks!

Cap Ferrat is a 10 hour drive. Would you fly to Nice? I’d stay in the Bordeaux area. Lots of lovely hotels in Bordeaux or go to a smaller town (villages might not have a choice of restaurants!) and see the wine areas or the seaside. I think the trains go to enough interesting places too. Have you checked the Michelin Guide for restaurant recommendations? Usually worth a look.

I can recommend Hotel Au Logis des Remparts in St Emilion. Breakfast on the terrace and nice pool. Lots of lovely food and wine.
