I'm looking for any recommendations please for Spain/portugal or similar type flight duration from Edinburgh or Newcastle at a push.
Not rowdy, 4/5 star self catering with a three bedroom apartment which seems to be a massive ask!
I would be very grateful if anyone could recommend anywhere they have been which I may have missed.
Done all the usual searches (on the beach and similar). and I must be missing something... £9k for a family of 5 in school holidays! Madness.
Help welcomed Smile

If you want self catering you could look on Airbnb at 3 bed villas? From experience, there are complexes in Quinta do Lago in Portugal which have villas with a shared pool and short walk from nice restaurants etc and not at all rowdy. Transfer booked separately from the airport and flights usually with easyJet to Faro

Great thanks. Yea will be booking all separately. You couldn't remember the name of the Portugal villas at all could you please?

The complex I stayed in was called Encosta do Lago but there are other nice ones in that area too! Near the beach and in walking distance of nice restaurants (try Izzy's beach restaurant if you go!)

I know the location won't be where you're looking for but we've booked a holiday for 5 to Benidorm flying from Glasgow for 10 nights. We're going the 30th of June so the start of the Scottish school holidays but before the English school break up. I tend to find this time is slightly cheaper. It was still very expensive, £5k for half-board in a 4 star. Jet2 do free child places which has saved us £1300.

So I imagine you will be able to get self-catering much cheaper.

I've definitely noticed the prices have really gone up this year!

Thank you both. I've never been to Benidorm but it's worth a look. Prices are just daft

It gets a bad rep because it can be a bit rowdy but there's loads for the kids to do, the nightlife is great and the old town is absolutely stunning.

Really? Well I will have a good look. Any accommodation recommendations? Thank you

We're staying at Hotel Melia Benidorm. There's lot of self-catering apartments as well.

Also you can get a local bus to and from the airport for about €10. Sometimes transfers take forever if there's loads of drop offs so we've always just arranged our own.

Have a look at Camrbils Park and Sanguli Salou. They both have 3 bedroom apartments.

Thank you ☺️
