Can anybody recommend somewhere hot in feb, that's family friendly but would suit a mixed bunch as we're hoping to go away with friends who don't have children? DS will be 2.

We've never been into the really busy reosrts, but like places with a bit of culture, good food and a bit of a buzz. TIA.

We went to Hurghada in Egypt last Feb for a week and did a two day tour to Luxor which was amazing. Weather was lovely during the day but cool at night. Have also been to Dubai in February. Otherwise would you consider going longhaul to the Caribbean - Mexico has lots of Mayan ruins to visit for example.

Went in Feb this year to Duabi. Really quite chilly in the evenings. Have you thought of Thailand. The people LOVE children and it is cheap once you get there. We stayed in the Sheraton Grande Laguna in Phuket and whilst it was fairly expensive it had a free Kids Club (not sure what the minimum age was) but the babysitting was £1.50 per hour and this was in a 5* hotel. Flying time is about 11.5 hours but it is really worth it once you get there especially if you are staying for 2 weeks. Avoid Patong Beach area in Phuket, horrible and full of middle aged men with young girls.

Also £6 per hour massages on the beach.....
