Can anyone recommend anywhere?

Clayton. It's lovely. Can't remember if parking is on site or just over the road but it was very good.

Is that walkable to the airport itself?

We always stay at the Hilton using onsite parking (not airparks).
Very short taxi to the airport in the morning (included).

Clayton is nice but not walkable.

Radisson is walkable

We've just stayed at the doubletree Hilton - free shuttle bus to terminal (3min drive) or 10 min walk.

Radisson Blu. Not the cheapest but definitely the nearest - only a 5 minute walk to terminal.

Clayton is definitely walkable but helps if you’ve checked in your luggage the evening before ( jet2 do this for example ) however the Clayton also runs free shuttles from very early in the morning but make sure you book your slot when you’re checking in.

Definately the rad. By far the easiest walk, and you can get some decent prices if you stalk the website.

Clayton is totally walkable. It takes about ten minutes.

Yes would highly recommend the Clayton.
Check your luggage in the night before if you have an early flight,
The shuttles run about every 15 mins 24/7 and take you door to door.

Clayton has a free shuttle bus from memory.
