Barcelona - fancy restaurant advice

The 3 of us (me, DH & DS14) are planning on a summer hol based around Barcelona & Costa Dorada.
It's DH significant birthday this year and we are big foodies (hate the term, but gets the point across!) and for his present he would like a really good meal. Like tasting menu style probably, but something that is representative of the region/country, skilled chef, good wine parings etc etc.
Obviously it's going to be pricey, but if anyone knows of anything that'd fit the bill but also be at the lower end of the price scale that'd be extra good, as we now have to fork out (pun not intended) for DS who will absolutely not want to miss out.

[Any suggestions for places to stay in that region also appreciated, but resturant/food places main focus of my question 😊]

No advice except that hotel concierges are sources of information for things like this.

Would recommend staying in the Gothic quarter if you can find a nice place - lots of lovely places to eat/drink there, easy access to the sights and the beach and the whole area has a lot of character (whereas the rest of Barcelona is modern blocks).
