£2k budget for May half-term family holiday

We havent been abroad for 8yrs, so my children (5yrs and 1yr) have never been abroad.

It's my 40th this May, and our 10yr wedding anniversary, so we are keen to book a holiday to celebrate.

Ideally somewhere warm and sunny, close to beach, with pools/splash pool/slides for kids.

We can fly from either East Mids or Birmingham on 24th or 25th May.

Our very limited budget is £2k (which seems mad for a week but I guess I'm not up to date with prices in the last 8yrs!)

Please can I have help on where to go? I've spent hours looking and now stuck not knowing what to book.

Where would you book?

Canary Islands might be possible for May half term for around £2k if you book self catering, take a look at Jet2 as they have some free child places and you don't have to pay for children under 2.

We tend to use Jet2 as they fly from East Midlands and we found a lot of the hotels in the Canaries had splash parks and are very family friendly.
