Best things to experience in Iceland

Just that, really. Husband and I are planning our first holiday together. It will be between 3 and 5 nights. I like the idea of booking the hotel and flights and then adding trips out but I'm not sure what we should prioritise. I would love to do the Northern lights trip (I know there's no guarantee) and perhaps whale watching but again, not sure the risk of not seeing them is worth the price?

Has anyone been and can recommend must do activities? We will be staying in Reykjavik.

I assume you know this, but there's only about 4½ hours between sunrise and sunset at the start of January, rising to just under 7 hours by the end of the month. So you're probably going to need to carefully optimise your sightseeing time, outside of downtown Reykjavik.

as someone has said the Golden circle trip and seeing Gulfoss waterfall were my favourites.

We went snowmobiling on a glacier, it was absolutely stunning.
