Anyone been to Neilson resort Baia Dei Mori?

Looking to go away with my 2 sons (15 and 12) for May half term. We have done Neilson and Mark Warner before but I've not been to that specific resort.

Anyone been to Baia Dei Mori in Sardinia, and would you recommend?

Our other option is Voinaki, but it's more expensive.

Is Sardinia warm enough in May HT?

(I'm a newly single mum with anxiety currently so although I've travelled with the kids by myself before I'm flapping a bit about it at the moment!)

Should be low 20 but chilly at night.

If you want to guarantee hot weather Canary Islands, Cyprus, Greece might be better.

I have been to Sardinia but in the summer.

BTW I'm a lone parent, have been for 14 years and traveled everywhere. You'll be fine. You've got this.

Try Club La Santa in Lanzarote as an alternative if you want to be sure about the temperature! It's similar to Neilsons but much better facilities (other than the water sports if that's your bag).

Baia dei Mori is a beautiful resort. Not much going on around for the teenagers, though. I would suggest that Vounaki would be a better bet. That's where my teens prefer anyway!

Did you go to Baia dei Mori in the end @MissIndecisive2023 I'm looking at it for this summer and wondered what you thought of the resort (and particularly the food!)

Cookerhood · 22/02/2024 14:55

We loved it (but no children with us). The rooms aren't as good as in some other Neilson resorts but are fine. The food was good, the bay is beautiful. It was very hot early June (35 degrees).
Club la Santa is great but a very different type of holiday & more expensive these days.

Not yet - we are looking for this May half term but haven’t booked yet.

Ah yes, didn't read that bit properly!

June2008 · 22/02/2024 18:41

We liked Baia de Mori and the food was excellent. Good variety of options each day. I seem to recall having lots of fish there. And a very wide selection of ice cream that our girls loved!
The rooms are slightly smaller than in the other resorts but perfectly adequate. Its a short walk to the beach which is in a protected area so you have to keep off the sand dunes. Definitely one of the more attractive Neilson resorts.

@June2008 what time of year did you go?

@MissIndecisive2023
We've been in the school summer holidays and October half term

Schoolchoice23 · 28/05/2024 12:16

Hi- wanted to check that this resort was still a good one? I’m booked in to go this summer but the recent reviews on trip advisor make it seem like it’s pretty awful. Checking that the food and resort are still Neilson standards?

MissIndecisive2023 · 01/06/2024 07:05

I’m here right now! What is it you want to know?

We’ve had a great week. We have done a few neilson and mark warner holidays in the past - in terms of facilities, beach, bikes etc it’s very similar to other resorts. We were in a triple room (I travelled with my 2 kids) and the rooms are smaller than places we have stayed before but we were barely in the room other than to sleep so it didn’t matter at all.

The food wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was edible and there was always something that all of us liked. (I’ve got OCD and emetophobia so food is a bit of an issue for me anyway - I managed to eat all week so it must have been ok!)

The pool was nice, the beach was nice, kids club were good (although didn’t always stick to the schedule which could be a bit annoying when I’ve got teens who wanted to sign in and out for some things that didn’t happen or happened at a different time).

We had a great week and would come again.

What were the negatives in recent reviews?

Frosty, the manager, was excellent and really friendly.

@Schoolchoice23 May I ask how it was? We are booked and some recent tripadvisor reviews are mixed but others brilliant!

Schoolchoice23 · 28/08/2024 16:13

It was one of the best holidays we’ve had as a family. It’s definitely a little rough around the edges in terms of the rooms but we found the food excellent and the kids club the best we’ve ever had! My son did hot shots and passed his level two RYA, husband did as well and I loved the exercise classes and tennis. Would definitely go back or try another neilson resort.

ConfusedFox · 28/08/2024 19:22

@Schoolchoice23 ah fantastic, thank you!

MissIndecisive2023 · 29/08/2024 16:45

We loved it too and would happily go back!
