Austria in September

Does anyone have any recommendations for Austria? We have two weeks and are thinking hill walks, lake swimming, poking round nice towns, good food. We will probably fly from the UK, would like to see more than one place but are open to travelling between them or staying in one spot and doing day trips. 2 adults. We would like nice places to stay but not bothered about super fancy hotels.

We've been to Vienna and Salzburg before.

Seefeld.
Hotel Haymon.
Went last summer on a Mumsnet recommendation from a poster called MissAmbrosia.

Fly to Innsbruck, Seefeld is half an hour away on the train and trains run about every 15 minutes. There's walking, lake swimming, a water sport centre, cable cars etc. You can easily get into Germany (we went to Mittenwald and up the Zugspitze from there)

The Hotel had the most amazing food ever.

Fly to Salzburg and then look at places in the Salzkammergut lake district (e.g. Wolfgangsee) and/or head for the mountains and lakes in the west of Salzburgerland (e.g. Zell am See).

Last autumn we did some chunks of the Bergeseen Trail www.eurohike.at/en/destinations/walking-holidays-austria/bergeseen-hiking-trail which had plenty of opportunities for lake swimming. There’s lots to see and do in the surrounding area https://www.tripsavvy.com/best-things-to-do-in-salzkammergut-4176016

We've just booked to go in April. I found flying to Munich was more reasonable than flying to Salzburg or Innsbruck.

We're going to Achensee which looks stunning and is where the Chalet School books are set. Then on to Berchtesgarden in Germany but very close to Salzburg. Near Konigsee which again looks beautiful.

Thank you all for the suggestions, I'll sit down with a map and have a look at all these.
