I’ve been searching and need ideas. I do believe it can be done.

It can be city break but preferably not a big modern city. eg Prague considered but I can’t find cheap flights at a good time from Gatwick. Also would need to be somewhere not too expensive for eating out - city breaks previously with them cost a lot spending wise.

A five night trip would be great and travel would need to be fairly simple so the travel time isn’t disproportionate to trip.

We live close to Gatwick so that is the preference re airport.

City break, beach break, anything considered.

This has been so helpful. So many suggestions within budget. I think Antibes might be favourite so far. A couple of Air bnbs look good. Going to sleep on it and look afresh tomorrow. @Tex111 would you recommend the Old Town? A couple of reviews mention noise and neither of my children are great at staying up late. It’s nice to have things on your doorstep though.

Actually stupid question sorry! you have already recommended the old town. Guessing you didn’t find it too noisy.

The old town is great and we never found it noisy. I've seen some airbnbs over bars or cafes that might be a bit loud. The reviews usually warn you. It's a wonderful place.

5 nights well within budget.

Good ideas for next year too.
