Where would you go for a week in August without kids

Next year my children have a 9 night scout camp abroad.

This will be our first (and probably only ever) oppertunity to go away for a week without them (They will be 14 and 12). (until they are adults, obviously)

We still owe ourselves a honey-moon which we've never had.

Where would you go for a week without kids.

We can go pretty much anywhere within reason.

All ideas welcome

My choice for a week would be Slovenia.

You could do a really lovely road trip in that time and see a bit of everything (they’ve got some lovely looking adult only vineyard/spa hotels (I was looking at going here for part of our honeymoon but got pregnant quicker than I expected:https://peterc-brda.si/)
Ljubljana is a lovely city and has some good restaurants and bars), the lakes/gorges are beautiful and great for hiking and watersports, you can do bear watching tours in the forest (August is a good time to do this). There are also some pretty coastal towns or it’s an easy drive over the border to Italy for fantastic food/architecture/history in Trieste).

It’s also a lovely temperature in August (25-30ish) and there are short/affordable flights from the UK so it’s easy to get to (and get back if there’s an emergency).

@StephanieSuperpowers I've been to Treviso. I spent 3 or 4 days there a few years ago & it's a surprisingly gorgeous city. Lots of lovely bars & restaurants. It's the home of Prosecco (there's a museum about it) & formula one racing...and Benetton! Lots of wealth. I recommend it 👌
It's also v easy to go to Venice on the train for day

We had a fab week in Lake Garda last August. I absolutely loved it there.

We found Valencia absolutely beautiful, so much to see. There is a beach, but it isn’t commercial which makes a pleasant change. We did a lovely Airbnb in a typical Valencian apartment in the city centre.

Since having this holiday I no longer want to stay in a hotel, the freedom of having an apartment is so much better.

There’s plenty of choices for food, it’s never ending. It’s lovely to watch the locals in the evening, meeting up and enjoying the night. Transportation is cheap and easily accessible.

We travelled at the end of August, it was typically warm but was easy to find shade down alleyways, or popping into a shop.

It’s a short flight, the airport is approximately 15 minutes from the city, it’s soo easy.
