May be a silly question but we are going abroad in Feb with DD and her friend both age 16. Will we need any forms of consent from the friends family? Dont want to get get stopped for child abduction! They did purchase the flight.

I’m not sure about over 16 - I think they can travel alone anyway?

we took DD friend abroad with us but she was 15. We just downloaded a parental permission form and the parents both signed it. We were never asked for it.

thinking about it - DS1 went away with school last year and was age 16 and we had to fill out a similar form for the school to keep with the passports. But that might just be a school policy regardless of age

Better safe than sorry. I would travel with a letter from the parents.
