Any advice on airport transfers, please?
It's about 8 miles, & the quotes I've found are c. 150 euros return !
We're staying in the Historic Centre, so the train is not practical.

Is it easy to get a taxi outside the airport, & I'm hoping it's a lot less than 75 euros.

You could get the train then a taxi? Train is really easy.

Not been yet. But planning on flying in and out of Bologna in the summer.

Or it is a short walk depending on who you have with you!

The train (monorail thing I believe) wasn't running when we were there, so we got the bus from the airport to the central station. We would have got the train, had it been running. Central station is only just outside the historic centre and our hotel, in the centre, was walkable from there for two adults with wheely cases. Obviously would be a bit more of a pain if wrangling small kids but, like a pp says, you could get a taxi from the station to the hotel.

It is very easy to get a cab outside and it costs about €30-35. Taxis are regulated and uber is also there and really good.

it’s a WONDERFUL city. Have a great time. I was there in October and would love to go back.

BitOutOfPractice · 06/02/2024 20:29

yeah the station is about 20 mins walk from the historic centre which you might not fancy in cold / dark / rain / after a long journey.

Taxis are easy to get and there are buses you can get into the centre (but depending on luggage a taxi might be more straightforward).

Thanks everyone, taxi door-to-door will be fine now I know it's a reasonable price.
