City break not too far from coast

Hello,

My adult daughter has a special birthday coming up and I'd like to take her for a long weekend away. Probably limited to Europe.

Has anyone any ideas? Would quite like a city, not too far from a coast.. thinking maybe an overnight stay in the city, then a couple of nights at the coast?

Barcelona is unfortunately out as she has plans to go there. She went to Rome last year.

Helsinki. Clean, friendly and utterly stunning. One of my all time favourite places to visit and would recommend it to everyone.

Venice.

But very dark and cold at this time of year.

Another vote for Dubrovnik or stop outside the city and take the bus or boat in for the day.
