Boston - Hotels

So we are going to Boston in April. Any advice on hotels? We just need a basic but clean centrally located chain hotel I had mentally budgeted about £150 - £200 a night but that seems massively under - everything is hilariously expensive - is this normal or am I missing something?

The Seaport area is just out of town about a 20 min walk to Boston Common. The walk is lovely though. We stayed at The Westin Seaport

We stayed in the Seaport in August in the Hilton Homewood Suites. The hotel rooms were great - very spacious with their own small kitchens (including dishwasher!) But the hotel was in the furthest away point in the Seaport and a trek to get into Boston itself (although there is public transport which is frequent). Also didn't think the restaurants etc in the Seaport were up to much - there were a few but most were very expensive. But I think the hotel was cheaper than ones in the centre.

Thanks - will take a look at Seaport - we will need to use public transport but we don't mind a bit of a trek/walk.

We stayed at the Westin Copley Place. Location was perfect. We walked everywhere, including the Red Sox game. Rooms were huge and quiet.
