Restaurant in Paris - ideas please

I am looking for a recommendations for a restaurant in Paris for a special birthday trip. I have searched previous threads and looked at loads but they have tended to be either way over budget or too traditional (we will be doing traditional on other nights).

I am looking for:

  • French or French mix e.g French/Japanese
  • no more than 100 each
  • don't mind tasting menu
  • 1-7th arrondissements

Any recommendations? Thanks!

No specific recommendations but I've always had good luck using the cheap eats section of the Michelin Guide. Go to viamichelin.com, specify neighbourhood and specify only eateries without a star ranking.

Thanks I will have a look. Of course every time I find one that looks great it's booked!

I’ve had two great birthday meals at L’ami Jean!

Le Train Bleue inside the Gare du Lyon is lovely. Food is great and the dining room is stunning.

You could just about stretch to Bonnie, if you choose wisely. Not been myself, but friends have and it’s supposed to be very special and stunning views.
