I'd air on the sign of caution and put in hold luggage.

If its in hand luggage I think it'll be confiscated.

Could always buy airside in boots.

I put mine in my hold luggage, or just bought some when I got there. 😁

Yes you can. I almost never use hold luggage, and nor do any of my colleagues on work trips. I’m pretty sure everybody takes a razor.

Chickenlicken15 · 20/01/2024 17:03

Thanks everyone

Greenbike would you pack it in suitcase in hand luggage or be up front and out in my bag of toiletries?

You can not have a disposable razer in your hand luggage. You might get It through security if you are lucky but it's strictly speaking on the banned list and you risk losing it.

It should go in your hold luggage. If you are traveling hand luggage only, shops exist in foreign countries and a disposable razor is cheaper than paying for hold luggage.

MissusKay · 20/01/2024 17:29

Of course you can bring a standard disposable razor in hand luggage: https://www.gov.uk/hand-luggage-restrictions/personal-items

Yes it can go in hand luggage, no need to put it in your bag of toiletries as it's not a liquid, gel or paste.

Chickenlicken15 · 20/01/2024 18:08

Thanks everyone that’s been helpful

Either works. I normally just leave it packed, have never been stopped at security because of this in probably >100 flights

WashItTomorrow · 20/01/2024 18:44

You can definitely take it in hand luggage. I always do.

Georgyporky · 20/01/2024 18:49

Depends on the airport.
I accidentally travelled with a small pair of scissors in hand luggage.
Fine outbound, confiscated inbound.

VisionsOfSplendour · 20/01/2024 18:56

Are you planning. On shaving during the flight? If you've paid for hols luggage why is this even an issue?

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 20/01/2024 22:32

@VisionsOfSplendour OP doesn't have hold luggage . That's why they are asking.

She says she has hand luggage and a case, don't cases go in the hold?

Greenbike · 21/01/2024 09:42

I presume she means a small underseat bag and a wheelie case for the overhead lockers
