Florida Fly-drive - what's best to do about car seats?

Hi, we have fly-drive booked to Florida in April with DD age 3, Had booked the thing then remembered about car seat but the company won't let us book car seat in advance so need to wait until we go to pick car up - what if they don't have one? Also have heard it costs a fortune and that they are not always in good nick / clean. What did any-one else do?

we did this last year. the car rental place (alamo at Miami) had loads and loads of car seats, all in plastic bags and in reasonable condition- she just handed it over the counter and off we went (think it was $60). hope it all works out.

Did you know that they would have car seats in advance? Through our booking we're using Dollar at Sanford Airport, its where a lot of UK flights land so I expect they should have a fair few.

at the time of booking we were told we weren't guaranteed so we were a bit anxious too
