Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some local knowledge, or some traveller knowledge of sienna, and the area around. I'm looking for a small town, somewhere within train ride, or bus ride of sienna, which would be a pleasant place to stay as a solo woman. Aiming to be there for a couple of weeks, and any advice would be greatly appreciated?

I don't know the area at all, I'm trying to get myself together with a little bit of Italian, but intend to be there for about two weeks.

😊

Why not Siena itself? It's lovely.
Otherwise, other similar sized small towns fairly near would be San Gimignano, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Massa Maritima.

But of those, Siena itself would get my vote and visit the others from there

I loved Lucca, also single traveller

I agree with the poster above, Siena is not very big, it just has some very big buildings. It's a really lovely place to stay. So much to visit. I'd stay there.
