Greek islands at Easter

We are looking at going to Greece for a week at Easter with our two teens. Where is easy to get to where there is charm and good places to eat. We love Sifnos but there are only a few ferries weekly at 9am from Piraeus and returning at around 7pm meaning we'd need to stay 2 nights in Athens.

I think Crete is the warmest island at that time of year. I really liked Agios Nikolaos

Syros? The capital town is stunning!

Rhodes has 300 days of sun so maybe there? Or Crete. Warning: it isn't that warm anywhere at Easter. I've been there a lot at that time, it's frequently raining and the locals are often wearing their ski jackets.

The Greek calendar celebrates Easter on a later date than the uk. This year Greek Easter Sunday falls May 5th. It's a huge event in Greece. Bigger than Christmas is my experience.

May is a lovely time to visit. Good chance of warm sun. Beautiful wildflowers. And of course a great time to see Greek friends. But it's still out of season so flights will be limited and ferries. Some islands will have very limited facilities. This will be even more limited if you're going UK Easter holidays.

The bigger islands such as Crete with a sizeable year round population would maybe be the best choice.

I loved Athens. I’d be very happy to spend 2 nights there.
If you are going by ferry, Crete is quite a long journey from Piraeus but some of the smaller closer islands might be quite dead in April - assuming you are meaning UK school Easter holidays

We did Zakinthos / Zante and it was glorious

Sorry we went in May and Easter is early this year so can't comment on weather 🤦‍♀️

We went to santorini in mid April 2 years ago and in all honesty we were cold in the evenings. The weather was very good, very sunny but it was too chilly for us. Warmed up at the end of April though

Oh and lots was shut! It was very much off season.
