EasyJet prices

I don't travel enough to know the answer to this, so I am hoping for some sage advice.
We are flying to see family in Palma, Mallorca in October half term. At the moment the price, including a couple of cases adds up to £2k for a family of 4. Seems expensive, but doable as we won't be paying for accommodation.
Is there any chance the prices will come down? Or will they only go up?
(Happy to look at other airlines, we are flying from Gatwick.) we are flexible with dates a little as we would like 5 nights there, but would rather no take the children out of school.

EasyJet prices have become ridiculous, along with their poor customer service. I recently booked with BA as cost was substantially less than EasyJet!

That sounds ridiculously expensive. I don’t think I’ve ever spent for than about £250 for a similar return flight for one person. Maybe £300 max.

That does seem a tad expensive. Have you tried Skyscanner comparison site?

I think sadly this is one of those occasions where a couple of days off school may be necessary - if you travel on the Thursdays 24th -31st rather than on the Saturdays the price is more than halved. If you go the last flight on Thursday they'd only miss one day school. Though I'm sure arriving in the middle of the night wouldn't be the preference of the people you're staying with! I know it's not ideal - and if your kids are exam years I'd advise against - but sometimes you have to make a call on the least bad option - and £500 flights to Majorca is ludicrous.

Yes, maybe the kids can miss a couple of days. BA prices seem more reasonable than easyJet. I shall try Skyscanner. Thanks for the advice.
