We are looking at 10-ish days in Slovenia this July. Family of 4 - two teens (14 and 17). Does anyone have any tips/must dos/secret locations they can suggest?

Thank you!

Ooh! Lucky you. Slovenia is a beautiful country and we had a wonderful holiday with our (slightly younger) kids there last year. It’s so easy to get around and we really enjoyed the contrast of Ljubjana, Lake Bled/ Bohinj and the gorgeous Adriatic coast.

We enjoyed it all, but here are some links to highlights for us: https://www.postojnska-jama.eu/en/

We stayed at the Eurostars in Ljubjana which is great. And a gorgeous little boutique hotel in Piran called Momento.

Postojna Cave Park

Visit the Postojna Cave Park wonderland and experience two unforgettable world-famous attractions – Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle.

We went to slovenia and stayed in Bohinj with DC's 13 and 11 last summer for 7 days and I swear, it was the most beautiful place I've been. We travelled to Bled for a day and went on the grass toboggan, but Bohinj was a hundred times better.

The savica River is breath-takingly beautiful and although we planned lots of trips to caves, up the Vogel cable car, biking and canoeing, all the kids really wanted to do was swim in the lake (which you can't do at Bled). The water is so clear you can see the fish around your feet and they would have just swam every day if we hadn't had stuff planned. Visit Mostinica Gorge for a good afternoon's walk and just enjoy the scenery!

Some of the wellness hotels in the mountains are excellent value for money. Huge rooms and beautiful facilities

We went went kids were younger driving from Munich (cheaper flights and wanted to see Munich too). We stayed in a village on outskirts of Lake Bled. loved it, fun waterpark on Lake Bled and paddlebaorded to the island. lake Bohinj was stunning and also did rafting on the river. lubljana was extra hot but nice in evening. Also took cable
cars up a mountain and tried the local produce - can’t remember name of the mountain! So much to do,
if I didn’t love the beach so much , I’d go back!
