How anyone books a holiday is beyond me!!

Looking for resort holiday recommendations, we liked the look of Greece.

It is myself, DH and DS who will be 5 and looking for a 4/5* all inclusive if possible. It will be our first resort holiday

Also open to a villa with a bigish pool.

We never went on holidays growing up so this is all new to us so any help or recommendations would be amazing because I don't even know where to start

Grecotel Marine Palace is very family friendly and within walking distance of a lovely little village with tavernas, cafes etc…

Pine Bay Resort, Kusadasi, Turkey. The only place we ever went twice.

What's your budget, and when do you want to go? And how long do you want to go for?

Also, which airport would you want to fly from?

Perhaps narrow it down.
Greece ? Mainland, or an island - they are all different.

Budget is flexible which is why I haven't put one we are fortunate to have quite a bit put away but as a starter 6k.

Gatwick is good for us but can travel

Would be looking at last week of July first couple of weeks of august for 7 nights.

We like Crete have seen Stella palace which looks nice

Have a look at Tui's website

I've put in as many of your details as I could - including All Inclusive, which is what you said initially.

Seems like plenty to choose from with your budget.

... or villas

dreamingofsun101 · 13/01/2024 20:14

I think for me it's the fear of booking something and getting it wrong and it's actually awful Blush

Need to just be brave and go for it!

Read the reviews of anywhere you're thinking of - on Trip Advisor there are also travel forums, where you'll be able to ask people about where you're thinking of going.

And - when you've found somewhere you like the look of, ask here!

With a 5 year old I wouldn't go for a villa. Often too remote and you spend the whole time entertaining him.

Resort hotels have kids clubs and children entertainment, that gives you a bit of peace.

But do look for a suite/appartment with a separate bedroom, that gives you more space and if he needs to go for a nap/goes to bed earlier, you don't have to whisper.

You should get an Ikos hotel for around budget, but be warned you will be spoilt for future trips. The all inclusive is superb (I drank too much Tattinger). We’ve only been once and it’s way out of our budget now the children are older, but you shouldn’t be disappointed!
