Cruise - passport in maiden name

Just wondering can I go on a european cruise if my passport is still in my maiden name? Will they accept it if I take my marriage certificate? I've done this when flying but just wanted to check. Thanks

Just book it in your maiden name?

dementedpixie · 13/01/2024 10:32

Book tickets in your maiden name so the name matches your passport

Alwaysanotherwine · 13/01/2024 10:33

you must book in your maiden name

ive done it loads but you can’t book in married name and use maiden name passport

they have to match

i travelled on maiden name passport for about 8 years

EffortlessDelegation · 13/01/2024 10:34

I'm amazed you've been able to do this for flights TBH.

SnowsFalling · 13/01/2024 10:48

Passport needs to match the booking name.
So book it to match ie your maiden name.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 13/01/2024 15:34

Book it in the name on your passport.

Book in your maiden name problem solved. If it's a no fly cruise and already accidentally booked in married name, try calling them to get it changed, they are definitely more amenable than budget airlines

bobomomo · 13/01/2024 15:46

Or change your passport pronto

ronoi · 13/01/2024 15:47

When travelling you need to book tickets in the name on your passport.

Musicaltheatremum · 13/01/2024 15:48

I just got remarried (18 months ago) and my passport is still in my last name as it's still got 4 years to run. We just book me in my old name and husband in his. As long as you remember to book in your passport name that's fine. Not all women change their names on marriage.

Xmasgrinchmas · 14/01/2024 16:11

Thanks everyone. So booking in married name is a no go, it has to be the name on my passport?

Yes. It will tell you this when you book as well.

Alwaysanotherwine · 14/01/2024 16:19

100%

you cannot travel with names that don’t match

Xmasgrinchmas · 15/01/2024 07:03

Great thanks 😊
