Help me choose a baby friendly all inclusive

Hi mumsnetters

I'm considering booking a package/ all inclusive holiday during the may/June half term for me, my partner and baby. It's just occurred to me that this is the best age to take baby away. Next year he will be walking and we would ideally like another in the not too distant future so this will be the last time for a while that we can relax as baby snoozes in the heat.. that may be a pipe dream but more chance as a 6 month old than a toddler!!

I've never been on a package holiday but I enjoy lying by a pool and buffet breakfasts. I'm open to anywhere but most interested in Portugal or Greece. Has anyone been somewhere that they have really enjoyed with their baby? Any reason it was better than other places? What made it baby friendly?

TIA for any info :)

What’s your budget?

welshweasel · 12/01/2024 15:10

Sensatori fethiye (turkey). Any of the rixos chain.

Sani, or any of the IKOS. Check out Martinhal too

Hi! We have spent all week looking at all inclusive European breaks to take our daughter to for her first holiday. We finally booked an all inclusive to the greek island of Kos after much looking. This is for July when she will be about 9 months old. Try jet2, tui and easyJet websites for their package holidays. Some you get good discount too as well as NHS discount etc if this applies to you.
I have the same feelings as you - wanting a slightly calmer break before the toddler craziness sets in. I also didn't want to be surrounded by kids clubs/slides/ kids entertainment etc. just yet. I know this will come in the near future anyway!
We opted for a quieter hotel with its own beach. Not much around but everything you need in the resort, pretty views etc. and lots of open grassy areas to put a towel down and play with some toys. I also wanted to go with a company with a good rep or guide to advise on local pharmacies and doctors etc to be on the safe side with little one. Happy holiday hunting!

Check out the TUI blue Range, booked our 3rd this year. So well set up for babies and young children

Not Greece, but we went to Hotel Gran Sagitario in Menorca when DC was 4 months old and it was wonderful!

Lovely quiet hotel, near beach if you want it. Not all inclusive but we got half board and could get lunch at the pool restaurant.

The buffet was really good, and we loved taking the bus to the island capital in the evening for a wander round.

The staff were great with kids, so friendly.

At 6 months I wouldn’t look for a specific family focused place like Martinhal, particularly if you are breastfeeding (so don’t need to worry about bottles and formula) and you can put off solid food until after.

If that’s the case it’s actually a pretty easy holiday and you should make the most of not tying yourself to somewhere full of toddlers.

That said, lots of places will provide a steriliser and some even a microwave.

What you want is a hotel that welcome families but doesn’t only attract families.

Places we have enjoyed with young kids:

Ritz Carlton Tenerife
Gran Hotel Bahia Del Duque Tenerife
Hotel Esplendido Mallorca
Jumeriah Port Soller Mallorca

We have done Martinhal Sagres but when DC1 was a toddler.

Thank you so much for all of the suggestions! Plenty to research here. @Businessflake @GraceyDoodles That's exactly right - family friendly'ish.. no need for all of the kids entertainment, just a place that accessible with a buggy, rooms big enough to accommodate a travel cot and nice enough that we don't feel the need to escape.
If I book something, I'll come back and update :)
