I've searched the previous posts about SE, but can't find the answers I need.

DH has found a 2-week tour to Sri Lanka that looks good, but the posts I found were mostly about spa breaks & UK short holidays.

They are not ABTA, & charge extra for ATOL !

Has anyone used them for a proper holiday, please?

I'm on an SE break at the moment in Iceland. It's all been fine - flights and hotel etc. One minor let down around a booked tour but that's not really their fault. It's not really a package tour though - they are just a shop front for loads of hotels and flights that are bundled together - we are actually flying with easyJet for example so you need your own insurance.

What do you mean by 'charge extra for ATOL'? OP.

If it's £2.50 per person that's what ATOL charge to financially protect bookings, it's on all ATOL protected bookings from all ATOL protected operators. Some may choose to hide it within the holiday cost, some list it separately. They all charge it.

@Puppylucky Thank you, that's good to know.

@CheeseWisely Thank you, I never knew that. I've never seen it as a separate charge.

We're still researching SE, but not being a member of ABTA or AITO does concern me.

I went with them on a tour to South Africa, all was fine. We had a wonderful holiday.
