Holiday in June with 1&3 year old

Evening everyone,

Looking for some recommendations for a holiday destination for beginning of June 2024. I have a very active son who will have just turned 3 and a daughter who will be 14 months. I don't want it to be too hot for the kids, mid 20's would be perfect, kids club, beach, splash pool, toddler activities would be a massive bonus.

I have been considering Turkey - but now think it may be too hot for little ones at start of June - any feedback on this would be greatly received.

I am open to most places so please hit me up!
TIA xx

We went to Tenerife around that time last year with a then 1yr10month & 6 month old there was lots of children around that age and it was around mid 20's temperature wise, we would have gone back but we like to try somewhere new each year, there was lots for the children to do

Have you tried an IKOS resort? It's pricey but amazing for families with young children - IKOS Olivia is particularly geared towards children and have a great splash pool and lovely playground. The staff are also really fantastic with little ones and as everyone there pretty much has a kid there is no worry about meltdowns etc.

Turkey will be boiling in June. Long flight too.
I would go for somewhere like Mallorca or Menorca - short flight, nice beaches.

Royal Son Bou in Menorca is perfectly set up for young families and it’s only a short transfer from the airport.

@Bubblegum20 thank you 😊 which part of Tenerife did you go? Would you recommend the hotel you stayed at? If so, could you send me the name so I could take a look. Temperature sounds perfect 👍.

@ellecf21 thankyou 😊, I haven’t heard of those hotels but I’ll take a look now. Glad about the meltdowns as my little boy has plenty of those 😆

@redfacebigdisgrace thought it might be too hot! I’ll take a look at menorca, Mallorca, thanks 😊.

@Forgottenmyphone thankyou 😊. I’ll take a look now.

Love mumsnet, it’s so helpful 🙌 xx

Where abouts in the UK are you? We are near Portsmouth so we are making the most of Brittany Ferries (to avoid a long drive to the airport) and giving northern france a go with our (14 months at the time and 4 year old) We looked at June or august and only went for august because it's slightly warmer but June also looked warm!

There are some great campsites in Normandy/Brittany and they include kids clubs and looooads to do for the kids. Obviously you aren't actually camping, you're in a mobile home so you have the luxury of detached living/self catered etc. restaurants on site, takeaways etc. also because you're driving you can bring everything you need for the baby. It was a no brainier for us this year over a stressful flight/transfer and staying in a noisy hotel!
