Turkey or Spain in May

Looking to go on our first family holiday to either Spain, Costa del sol or Turkey, Antalya area the First week in May, my children are 4 and 2, I know my kids will want to be in the pool all day, so my question is, is it usually warm enough at that time of year to be swimming?

Thank you 😊

It will be warmer in Turkey. The pool may be a bit cool but some hotels have heated pools.

Definitely Spain! It will be warm in May. Also much nicer than Turkey.

As you say, the kids only want to splash, so think of where YOU would like to go!
Antalya has far more history/local eateries: as it's a bank holiday week, it's far more likely that Spain will be chavalicious.

I have been debating between Tenerife and Cyprus. In the end Cyprus has won due to websites saying Cyprus is warmer in May. Husband wouldn't travel to Turkey so sure why.
I looked at Spain as well but was too cold for me. I want at least 25c to enjoy the pool and beach.

It depends where you go in Spain.

I much prefer Spain to Turkey. Early May is usually glorious. Which resort are you looking at? Nerja is nice for families.

There’s some grey bottle in the Antalya are with lovely water parks for kids

I absolutely love Turkey but for early May I’d pick Spain with a heated pool.
