Hello All,

Just wondering if anyone has been a) to Mellihea in Malta and what was it like B) whether they went in october and what was the weather like?
Family want a beach type holiday this year, it has to be in school holiday time but I can't do heat so July/August is out of the question.

Someone suggested Malta was still pleasantly warm in Oct? Any experience?
Thanks 😀

want to sliema in october (july/aug too hot) and we had terrible weather. Maybe we were unlucky. Roads flooded, tornado over the sea, lots and lots of rain. The pool complex was closed for about half the holiday, bars by the sea got flooded and had to get the contents (fridges, drink etc) removed. Didnt like malta much anyway.

October is the start of the storm season so the weather can be hit & miss, absolutely lovely or horrendous. I'm half Maltese & I've been a few times at various times of the year.
The beach there is great for kids, very shallow but also tends to fill with jellyfish if there's been an onshore wind.

we have been at that time and weather was mixed and at times very heavy rain. Temperature was lovely but rain annoying especially with cancelled boat trips. We love Malta (kids are half Maltese) :)

I'd go to tenerife or Cyprus or Turkey in October. The weather in Turkey is lovely then.

thanks everyone, its not looking good is it :( definite no to sea full of jellyfish 😲

@ZenNudist We've been to Tenerife so was thinking somewhere we hadn't been before, maybe I need a rethink...

@scrumbrum12 what time of the year would you recommend to visit Malta for someone who doesn't like it too hot but doesn't want rain / storms either ?

PopPopMusic · 11/01/2024 13:18

We spent lasf Oct half term (end Oct/early Nov) in Malta and it was 27c every day. I hasn't booked a beach resort because I thought the weather may not be good enough but it was..no guarantee though!

Presuming you are tied to
school holidays, May/ June half term
is probably your best bet

scrumbrum12 · 12/01/2024 16:44

… easter is also
lovely but cooler

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 12/01/2024 16:54

No longer tied to school holidays @scrumbrum12 so sounds like it's better to go in the spring than the autumn . Thank you - will bear in mind .

thanks everyone
