Flying on Emirates

I hope some of you seasoned travellers can help me. I am off to Dubai next week to see my son who moved there a few months ago. Since I haven't travelled abroad for a few years, I have forgotten the 'can take/cannot take' luggage side. Am I allowed to carry on board a small cabin case (size and weight are fine) as well as a small crossbody bag for passports, etc? My 25kg baggage allowance is mainly used up taking his stuff he left behind 🙄

I've flown emirates lots of times, i always have passports etc in a small cross body bag as well as my cabin case. I've never been questioned about it, but i always make sure i have room to place my cross body bag in my cabjn bag if i am ever questioned about it just in case.

So that might be the easiest thing if you can do?

Thank you flutterbean, my cabin bag only has a few things in it so it will have the space. Do they actually weigh the cabin bag as well? Their 7kg allowance is not much!

7kgs is loads! I just went for two weeks with less than that, to a cold country.

Luggage allowance will depend on class if travel too. Best to check the website

A handbag or similar plus 7kg cabin bag is fine.

Never known emirates to weigh hand luggage, but have had other airlines do it. 7kg is loads, my luggage for a week’s holiday weighs about that.

Thank you 😊

I've only ever had my cabin luggage weighed once by Egypt Air.

To be honest though mine rarely hits 7kg as i'm too weak to shove it in the overhead compartments otherwise!
