I have two teenagers and we love wildlife. There's a bucket list of long haul wildlife trips that I'd love to do one day (safari etc) , but I can't afford that every year! Looking for summer holiday ideas to ideally combine some wildlife watching in Europe with other stuff (eg a few days wildlife, a few days city). Probably prefer a professionally guided wildlife tour, but open to self guided.
We've done quite a lot of wildlife watching in England and Scotland, so looking for overseas. I'd be happy with bird watching only, but the kids would prefer some mammals thrown in! This, year it has to be summer holidays, though also interested in Easter/October ideas for the future.
At the moment I'm looking at bear watching in Slovenia - has anyone done this? Otherwise, hit me with your recommendations please!
