Lake Garda (Bardolino)

For the first time in 10 years I’m taking DH on holiday. He normally plans, books and pays for everything - this is the first time I’ve done it all myself so I need it to go well!

I’ve booked RyanAir flying to Verona. I’m thinking hotel shuttle to Bardolino or will it be cheaper to just get a taxi?

Any other hints and tips appreciated! We’re staying for 7 nights. I’m thinking a day trip to Verona? If so are the trains easy enough to navigate?

We hired a car and drove from Verona to Garda. Then went to Bardolino one day. Very useful to have the car, we also drove to Verona for the day. Also Sirmione, took cable car up Monte Baldo, boat across the lake etc, there’s loads to do.

I've been on holiday to Bardolino! It's lovely there. The only thing I found slightly odd is that there's tons of restaurants for dinners, but really difficult to buy anything for breakfast/lunch. So I'd recommend your hotel offers some food or alternatively you can walk to the EuroSpar daily.

Also be aware if you go in the summer time the mosquitos are vicious!

There's a direct line from Verona Porto Nova station (main station) to Bardolino.
Gardalink service 162 and 163. Takes about an hour.

Bardolino is my fav part of Lake Garda, very flat so good for cycling. Took us 30 to 40 minutes on the bus from Verona so you might be cheaper with hotel shuttle?
We did an organised tour of Lake Garda took us all day but really good saw all the little towns, but there’s loads of ferry stops from Bardolino so you could plan to go to different towns on different days. I still think Bardolino is the nicest town so good start to your planning!

Look at Hotel Caeseus it's brilliant.

Also when you walk into Bardolino by the water go to the restaurant where all the spray comes in from the waves. No idea what it's called but good fun!
