Hi!

I'm looking to book a holiday for myself, my husband and our toddler for either June or September of this year.

Struggling to find what I'm looking for within budget so hoping you lovely lot can help!

  • Ideally looking at canary or greek islands
  • all inclusive
  • doesn't have to be an entire water park but a kiddy pool with little slides etc would be fab (would love somewhere with lots do to for toddler besides pools too if poss)
  • walking distance to beach
  • less than 1 hour transfer
  • flying from any London airport (and ideally early flights out and afternoon flights home)
  • ideally £1,500 all in at an absolute stretch could go to £2,000

TIA

We had two holidays with toddlers that I think would match your brief if you are flexible on dates and your toddler is under 2? Check prices on both Jet2 and TUI and there's usually a discount code or TopCashback to get a bit more off.

Lanzarote - H10 Suites Lanzarote Gardens. We did half board but you can upgrade to AI or just pay for lunch as you go. Short walk to beach and other restaurants. Has toddler pool, a play area, free crèche, kids buffet. We hired a bike and trailer and cycled along the coast path one day. Another day we hired a car and drove around.

Crete - Arminda Hotel and Spa. All inclusive. Has two toddler pools, one with just a slide, the other under a big sun canopy with bigger slides and fountains. Also a splash park with sprays and tipping buckets. Nice play area also under a canopy, kids club you can go in and play with the toys or do colouring whenever it's open, and a kids disco in the evening. One minute walk to beach. We spent most of the week in the pool but did do one day out to an aquarium and dinosaur park nearby.

Both hotels were pretty good. Not five star, but fine for a cheapish holiday with a toddler. Both were also one bed apartments so toddler can sleep in separate room, and they both had bath tubs which was handy. Would happily return to either. Hope that helps!

Thank you, DD is 2 (will be 3 if we go in September) so sadly these ones are looking out of budget so far.

Free child places seem to just charge more for adult bookings so doesn't work out any cheaper?

My colleague goes to Turkey (she goes to Side) which is extremely good value for money.

I know you’ve said Canaries or Greece but lots of places in Majorca would fit the bill. Alcudia, Cala D’or or Sa Coma / Cala Bona has lots of family hotels and brilliant beaches.

We’ve stayed at Coma Gran quite a few times and that has a lovely little splash park for younger children, 5 mins walk from the beach, about 55 mins coach journey or 30/35 mins in a taxi.

Salou is also brilliant for families and has lots of suitable hotels, with nice clean beaches and lots of beachside restaurants.

We found Greece and Canaries too hot in the Summer when we had little ones. Fine for early May and October, but that may just have been us.
